Ribbon Cuttings
A ribbon cutting is the ceremonial opening of a brand-new or newly-renovated/relocated business that has celebrated one of these within the past year. It can inaugurate a business's first day of business or it can take place weeks after the business's soft opening. The chamber will also consider ribbon cutting requests for a business changing hands or changing their name.
Yes! You actually cut a ribbon, and because a ribbon cutting marks a very significant moment in the business's history, we take plenty of photos. A ribbon cutting ceremony also gives the business owner or manager a chance to say a few words to those gathered. Business owners have used this time to publicly give thanks to those who helped them in their business journey as well as talk about what their business does.

Business After Hours
A Business After Hours (BAH) is a networking event hosted by different chamber members to meet and greet their current and future customer base. Chamber members and representatives are invited and the event is open to the public. Most BAH events draw a crowd of 30-40 people. This is an opportunity to learn more about the host business as well as others in attendance in a relaxed social setting. The event, invites individuals to your business for the opportunity to get to know you and your business, bottom line, let them get to know you, like you and trust you, they will in turn become your customers, friends and support group, even if you are competing businesses, coming together will build both of you up. Host businesses often give out door prizes and the Chamber hosts a $50.00 raffle during the event of members and representatives who have RSVP'd ahead of time for the event. A second member drawing is also held at each Business After Hours which starts out at $250.00. Each Chamber Business is entered into this drawing and if drawn and there is a person from that business present, they win the prize. If there is not a winner, that prize increases $25.00 per Business After Hour up until a maximum of $500.00.

Good customer service is critical to the success of any organization. It guarantees customer loyalty and promotes business in the community.
The Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce honors individuals who demonstrate a consistent commitment to delivering products, services and/or information that satisfies customers by exceeding their expectations. If someone has gone the extra mile and put forth a special effort on your behalf, or if you witnessed someone else receiving outstanding service, let us know!
Business of the Month
The purpose of the Business of the Month award is to recognize a business that employs local professionals of all ages, provides a consistent, superior customer experience, actively engaged in the Jamestown community, demonstrates exceptional growth through innovation, and through product and service development.
Nominations will serve as candidates for the Business of the Year award. Only one business is selected each month. Businesses who receive this honor will be featured in an article in the Chamber's monthly and weekly newsletters, published in the Jamestown Sun, and highlighted on the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce and Young Professionals of Jamestown social media platforms. The business also receives a banner stand to locate in their business for the month, with a formal presentation by the Chamber members, and a complimentary plaque to keep.
Yard of the Week
The Yard of the Week program has been established to recognize and share our appreciation for individuals that take pride in helping beautify our community. We need your help by nominating homes, in the City of Jamestown, that you feel are doing a great job on their yards. The program begins June and runs through September, with yards awarded weekly. The winners will be featured in the Jamestown Sun, the Jamestown Area Chamber of Commerce Newsletter and social media, along with displaying the Yard of the Week yard sign.
Yard of the Week selection will be based upon: regular mowing and trimming, flower beds, lawn to be free of weeds and disease, trees and shrubs pruned, all planting strips well cared for and attractive to look at.
